Finance leadership connecting knowledge with decisions

I am Ahmed AbdelRahman, a finance leader with nearly 18 years of experience across financial services, technology companies, and multinational groups.

I currently lead the finance function at a company specialising in financing services in Riyadh. My work spans financial planning, financial controls and reporting, liquidity and tax management, governance, and the development of finance processes and systems.

Previously, I led Group Accounting at Foodics across 10 legal entities in six countries: Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Jordan, Kuwait, and the United Kingdom.

My role covered financial statement consolidation, IFRS implementation, and managing audits, alongside participating in several acquisitions and mergers and supporting the group’s readiness for growth, fundraising, and an IPO.

Before that, I held leadership roles in financial planning and analysis, financial controls, and reporting at Nagwa Limited, within a group comprising seven entities in four countries: the United Kingdom, Egypt, India, and the United States, including a company and a charity in the UK and three companies in Egypt.

But what matters most to me in finance is not simply producing an accurate number.

What matters more is what that number means and the decision we should make based on it.

That is why I focus on building finance functions that help management understand alternatives, test assumptions, assess risks, allocate resources, and make better decisions, rather than simply recording and reporting what has happened.

I approach technology and artificial intelligence from the same perspective.

For me, their value is not in replacing professional judgment, but in improving analysis, organising knowledge, reducing repetitive work, and giving finance professionals more room to think and contribute to decisions.

My practical experience is supported by professional and educational qualifications, including the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) credential from the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) in the United States, specialised studies in accounting and finance at the American University in Cairo, and a certificate in Corporate Financial Decision-Making for Value Creation from The University of Melbourne in Australia.

That is where the idea for Nitaq began.

The platform started with a simple observation:

We have an enormous amount of accounting, tax, and financial knowledge. Its real value lies not in possessing information, but in being able to apply it to a practical situation and make a better decision.

Through Nitaq, I aim to turn knowledge and experience into tools, AI skills, and practical content that finance and accounting professionals can use in their daily work.

Not to replace the expert.

But to help experts access information, connect its parts, test their analysis, and work more efficiently.

Technology helps. Knowledge guides. Professional judgment remains at the heart of the decision.
