Egypt Tax Expert

One transaction can carry several tax consequences.

A financial decision needs a connected view of income tax, withholding, VAT, schedule tax, stamp tax, real estate tax, and procedures. This skill helps analyse those connections in Egypt and relate obligations to the transaction date and cash impact.

Available release: October 2026 · Legislative amendment package: July 2026, with the August erratum and Decision 450/2026.

BUILT FOR PROFESSIONAL WORK

Connected analysis for informed decisions.

For accountants, finance managers, and tax teams analysing Egyptian transactions, preparing returns, and handling tax examinations.

CLAUDE + EGYPT TAX EXPERT

Why I built Egypt Tax Expert

In finance, a transaction rarely fits neatly under one tax heading. Reviewing an overseas service invoice can lead to questions about income tax, withholding, VAT, or schedule tax. Once the treatment is understood, the practical question remains: which documents and actions are required?

I built this skill to bring those questions into one analysis. It starts with the transaction, its parties, and its date, then consults the bundled references to identify relevant taxes and procedures. The focus is the overall cost and obligation, not an isolated answer for each tax.

Use it to understand a transaction before execution, organise a return review, or prepare a memo for discussion with a tax adviser. Ask for the output you need: a direct answer, detailed analysis, or a memo connecting facts, references, conclusions, and next steps.

Egyptian laws included in the skill references

The package contains extracted texts from five principal laws and their executive regulations. These references help connect the analysis to the relevant provision and transaction date.

Income Tax Law No. 91 of 2005 and its Executive Regulations issued by Decision No. 991 of 2005: for taxable income, costs, depreciation, distributions, withholding, and advance tax deductions and collections.

Value Added Tax Law No. 67 of 2016 and its Executive Regulations issued by Decision No. 66 of 2017: for VAT, schedule tax, registration, input deductions, exemptions, and transactions with non-residents.

Unified Tax Procedures Law No. 206 of 2020 and its Executive Regulations issued by Decision No. 286 of 2021: for connecting analysis to returns, examinations, notices, appeals, and collection.

Stamp Tax Law No. 111 of 1980 and its Executive Regulations issued by Decision No. 414 of 1980, and Built Property Tax Law No. 196 of 2008 and its Executive Regulations issued by Decision No. 492 of 2009: for considering stamp and built-property tax where relevant.

The package also includes an amendment register to help track provisions over time. Include the transaction date and tax period so the analysis relates to the period under review.
